Advocate Rakesh Umarani is the Founding Partner of Vidyam Legal and the architect of the firm’s litigation and corporate strategy practice. A graduate of the University of Pune, he holds a Master of Laws in Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom, and a second Master’s degree in Business Laws from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru. His academic grounding across technology, intellectual property, and business law informs the multidimensional nature of his practice.
With over 12 years of active litigation and corporate advisory experience, Rakesh has represented large Indian and multinational corporations, financial institutions, educational institutions, construction enterprises, and private clients across courts and tribunals throughout India. His practice spans corporate and commercial disputes, arbitration, economic offences, white-collar investigations, insolvency matters, environmental litigation, real estate conflicts, cyber law issues, and intellectual property enforcement. He is known for handling complex, high-stakes disputes requiring strategic depth and calibrated legal positioning.

Advocate Harish Kumbhar is a Founding Partner at Vidyam Legal and a core pillar of the firm’s real estate and litigation practice. A law graduate from D.E.S. Law College, Fergusson College, Pune (2009), he further strengthened his academic foundation with a Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights from the University of Pune. Over the years, he has built a robust practice centred on real estate litigation, regulatory disputes, and civil proceedings.
He represents prominent business entities and individual clients before Civil and District Courts, Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRT), Consumer Commissions, the National Green Tribunal (NGT), RERA Authorities, and Cooperative Departments. His litigation practice is particularly distinguished in matters involving property disputes, RERA complaints, environmental clearances, revenue proceedings, and society registrations. He is known for navigating complex land title issues, conducting thorough due diligence, and structuring property transactions with procedural and regulatory precision.
Beyond courtroom representation, Harish has extensive experience in transactional drafting and advisory work, including conveyancing, acquisition structuring, contractual documentation, non-disclosure and licensing arrangements, franchising, leasing, and commercial agreements.
